About
Marcus Leitner is a composer and electronic musician based in Los Angeles, CA.
An accomplished synthesist and life long piano and violin player, Marcus has developed from this rich background a distinct voice blending electronic and acoustic instruments into complex and evolving soundscapes. At home working in the studio, leading orchestras, and performing live, this versatility has allowed Marcus to build a varied repertoire as a composer, working on short films from comedies to sci-fi thrillers to horror and performing live dark ambient music and Techno.
Marcus has collaborated with numerous directors across the Bay Area, as well as working on several student films at USC. He most recently worked on two short films Saffron and The Strangers, and finished writing music for an upcoming documentary on the Richmond City Rays.
Born and raised in Berkeley, California, Marcus studied at the University of California, Santa Cruz, majoring in Western Art Music and minoring in Electronic Music and graduated with his Masters in Screen Scoring at USC.
